Hurdles in Contracts Management:

Contracts are recurring in nature irrespective of the type of industry you engage in. In case of your organization involves into "n" number of contracts and agreements there is a need to streamline the contracts and to comply with legal compliance for the best interest of the organization. In order to have a contract management initially the organization has to list down the difficulties which they face. In certain cases, sales people initiate the agreement and moves to the legal department for drafting the contract or agreement. In such case all the stakeholder involved in the drafting process should list down the difficulties in the executing and managing the contracts.

One of the common challenge which the business people face is the lost contracts. People store and dump all the contracts which they enter into in some shelfs, cupboards or in cabinets till there is any dispute or in case of amendment or renewal. This method of storing contracts make them lose the track of those agreements. Furthermore this method of storing contracts attracts risk exposure and lost contracts.

Having a track of contract version and having a robust audit trail of documents is must for a good contract management system. A Contract before it is signed or active involves a "n" number of changes and amendments. Additionally, storing contracts locally could result in misplaced or lost contracts, could affect the contract's performance. There could be chances to miss out opportunity and favorable terms to be included in the new version of the contracts.

There are chances to miss obligations, key dates for payment, breach of contracts, renewals, amendments and so on. In case of failure to comply with the due dates or the terms of the contract because of the lack of management of contracts would result in great loss for the organization or the company, decreased revenue or even legal issues.

Non-Legal departments could not be able to access the contracts which was executed, in such cases it will be difficult for them to comply with the terms and obligations thus leading to the poor performance

These are the most common challenges faced by following the traditional method of contracts management. There is a need to digitalize contracts and making it more compliant by adopting and implementing the Contracts Management software by using Zoho Contracts.
